I've always found that if you're having difficulty changing what you're eating, you should start by focusing on how it's prepared.
Take the chili I just ate for instance--I always use 93% lean beef (you can get leaner but it gets way too crazy-expensive), drain it completely after you brown it, then I keep a bit of the starch from the kidney bean can and replace it with just a tiny amount of better fat (olive oil) for consistency...and the results are delicious and low in fat.
And if you're eating out...well, you just need to focus on eating less, because most of the stuff you're probably craving isn't as good for you as what you could make yourself.
