who says Lent is futile?
so last week i had an audition at the Crystal Cathedral...and then Lent began and i gave up the thing that i gave up...and this week i've got a callback at the Crystal Cathedral! now i'm not sure, but i think that's a Mormon church, which then begs the question of whether they observe a Lent-like tradition. either way, i think i'm gonna enjoy Lent

I gave up television for lent in the eighth grade, and the funny thing is that it broke the habit; I've barely watched TV in over a decade and a half since the. (I watch occasionally when someone else is watching, but it never occurs to me to turn the box on. I use it only for DVDs and Dance Dance Revolution, now .. don't even have an antenna!)
Of course, then I shortly gave up Lent ... haven't followed that tradition since then either!
