In a Sunburnt Country was a good book. I quite like Bill Bryson. I think you should read the Federalist papers as well if you're going to read the Constitution and the Declaration. I think that they give you a lot of insight to the intentions of the founding fathers. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, that's definitely a good point, I think I'll add those at some point. Actually something I hope to write eventually is my total reading queue of things I eventually want to read.
