I tell you, this does suck. It would be tantamount to me being kicked out of the Writer's Guild and being told, "You're not eligible to write a book now", or if Sarah told Rob, "I think we should separate." But at least in your case, the good is balancing out the bad, and you seem to be taking all of this in stride.
Well, learning to spell would help for starters. I really should check my spelling before I post stuff. Maybe they let me go because I'm illiterate.
Anyway, the Monday after I was canned (which was on a Friday) I called Kansas Unemployment and got my checks resumed as if nothing happened, so at least I can get soome monet going before I start at OtherWorld. OtherWorld got all my paperwork today I had to fill out for my 3rd Party Contractor stuff. I have to pay my own taxes, and I don't get benefits because I'm not an Illinois resident, but I get to set my own hours and work at home. I bill 'em on the 2nd and Last Tuesday of every month, and at the moment I'm not to go over 40 hours. After my trial period (30 - 90 days) I'll probably be raised up from $12.hr.
They're fully staffed at the moment - I'm pretty glad they wanted me enough to try me out anyway!

After there's children here, my mom or Hollie's mom can watch the kids a few days a week while I'm working. It'll be great!
OtherWorld Computing (or OWC as it's occasionally called) is probably the LARGEST independent Mac accessory place out there, MacMall (owned by CDW), Mac Connection and other catalog places excluded, of course. They sell G3 & G4 upgrade cards as well as FireWire & USB external drive cases (both empty and with drives in 'em) as well as several other things, like memory, hard drives, DVD/CD/CDRW drives and laptop accessories (cases, batteries, etc). Newer Technologies went out of business for a while, but one of the ex-owners bought the rights and re-opened it - now OWC is one of their exclusive dealers, especially on their really cool stuff, like iPod batteries that last 70% longer, as well as batteries for older laptops that have increased capacities.
Here's their site - I'm surprised you hadn't heard of 'em. They DO put a 4 page, color ad in the back of like every major Mac magazine.
You have 2 grandma's to use for babysitting. I only have one half. (My mom's health prohibits child care)
Stay upbeat man... Keep polishing that resume, and knocking down doors... Do what it takes. Sooner or later someone will think, "how the hell did my company make it this far without this guy! We NEED him!"
Confidence is the key.
BTW, Make sure Holly's not mad at me, will ya? I think we can both agree to disagree.

Actually, the company I used to work for has talked about wanting me back, which is an ego booster. But still, they turned me out on my ass - and right after I had worked from home for a week in immense pain because I just had an operation and had a plastic bulb full of pus hanging from a 10" tube inserted into my abdomen. They take it out, I return to work at the actual office, and they let on they they were closing. I could've easily done my job from home (as I had been doing), but they instead decided not to keep me. I'm excited about returning to work for them, as it's kind of like finding an old pair of beloved shoes in the closet you thought you had lost, but still, I'm a little bit wary

Aw, Man!
If you're feelin' nostalgic about the old neighborhood, there's still plenty of action in Buffalo at the A&A Food Mart on Maryland & West Street. That, or behind Blockbuster on Grant & Ferry or down on Genesee.
Boy, the Lower West Side is a real treat, ain't it? I should know - that's where I did YO MOMMA.
