I kind of loathe nicknames. Actually, that's a lie; I enjoy consensual nicknaming (which sounds plain odd.)

But when people just assume that you go by a nickname and start calling you something other than your name... not cool.

Ugh, that bothers me, too. Mostly because my name lends itself to nicknames I hate, and I've been cursed with a few annoying non-name related ones XD
