So last night I dreamed that the Caps lost in the first round to Boston in overtime of game 7.  Talk about a nightmare ( Read more... )

Sympathies on the REM-weirdness. I don't do the dreaming thing all that much, but I do get insomnia, and anything that screws with your sleep schedule is a bitch.

We've got a more or less full line-up going into the game tonight, so I think we'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for a good showing (or, at least, those of us who care about hockey/the caps/slaughtering-Tampa Bay).

BTW, do you engage in any of the instant messaging services (AIM/G!Talk/Etc)?

Funny thing is neither do I. It's rather uncommon for me to remember any kind of dreaming. Oof. I get periodic bouts of insomnia too, and it's the worst. Just WTF body, let me sleep.

Yes, crossed appendages and all that. I have a social obligation (AKA birthday party) to attend, so I'll miss the 2nd and 3rd periods, but hopefully when I get home I'll want to watch 'em recorded.

I like to proclaim that I am a Luddite in that regard because I've never gotten around to discovering AIM, but I do have gmail and thus its accompanying chat function. :D I can pm it to you.

Exercise can help with the insomnia, but more often than not I find that it tends to be anxiety driven (which is just frustrating, because so often that's when you most desperately need the sleep, too).

I feel your pain on the alternative obligations thing - I missed half of the Hawks @ Caps game, if you'll recall (see also: the origin of my burning hatred of ESPN's ticker). There are pros & cons to not catching the game in real-time, but DVR can be a godsend on certain occasions. Hope you have fun at the birthday party!

G!Mail/G!Talk can be awesome (and is where I tend to kick around the most often). Sure! PM me your GTalk addy; we'll chat at some point ;)

Yup, mine is probably a bit of both, but mostly anxiety. My mind just won't shut down sometimes.

Thanks, it was... well, an obligation. But some days you have to be supportive of friends.

Excellent, I shall.
