Anyone know anything, even impressions, about Jazz in Australia in the first half of the twentieth century?

I'm curious as to what people's impressions are.

I'll have a talk with my grandma. She used to sing for all the soldiers during the war, and her dad ran basically all the radio up in queensland, nothern new south wales at various times. she's sure to know something about it.
