YESSSS! I've friended you. And I've also put you into the wedding filter without consulting you, because we are practically engagement twins and therefore this entitles me to dump way more wedding planning on you than you may necessarily want. :)
Hi, I'm Havah, I'm a student at the University of New Mexico for ASL interpretation and speech pathology. I saw your icon and thought you looked nice and wanted to check out your journal. I am also hugely interested in Deaf education. I love to see other people's views on things... And I really really want to go to Gallaudet. I'm a nice person, really. I only bit my sisters when I was little. Never serious ^_^
Hi, Havah--I'm happy to know you. :) I'm fascinated by speech path, so I hope we'll learn from each other!
If you dig around in the journal a little, you'll see that I've just graduated from Gally but will be spending the next year interpreting (most likely, anyway). So I occasionally muse/rant/talk about interpreting, and someday, I'll get back to Deaf Ed, too. And please do ask me anything you want about Gallaudet; I've got lots of opinions and I love sharing 'em.
Oh! And--do you, by any chance, know Lesley? She's at UNM also, and taking at least a few ASL classes.
I saw your journal from Havah's. I'm Deaf but mainstreamed in high school. I saw that you went to Gally and I'm really interested in going there myself. Is it okay if I add you?
Absolutely! I'm a CODA and did grad school at Gally, so my experience was very different from an undergrad's would be, but I still loooooove to talk about it. Plus, I majored in secondary deaf education, so it would be wonderful to hear about your experiences at school. Thanks for the add!
Hi! I recognize you from your posts over there. Nice to meet you!
I read your profile--funny, my parents live in Phoenix and I'm going to be there this Saturday. My mother's actually a substitute teacher at PDSD (but only in recent years, so you probably don't know each other).
Awww, yay! Thanks for the good words. I don't get to do them nearly often enough. And I know all about hiatuses -- if I'm reading things correctly, you've got enough going on right now to worry about, yes?
...And if you knew anyone in the Berkeley English department, especially a displaced Nebraskan named Dory, then this world gets smaller still....
I actually don't have many connections to the university, so I haven't met any Nebraskans in the English department yet. But that's not to say I won't--it's that kind of town.

That and I think your default icon is fantastically vivacious and joyful. Inspirational, even.

I'll gladly add you, but with the small warning that I've sort of stumbled into an LJ hiatus. Posting, that is; I'm still trying to comment.
LOVE your picspams, by the way.
