Seth and Mike are the best. they managed to drive Nixon and themselves to a show in Chicago on Saturday. it was a lot of fun. Cal's bar reminded me of the Mag, only a bit smaller and they have shows. i don't think any of us (NxN) had slept much before we left town. i know Haas, Doug, Eric and i didn't. we got into Chicago around 8:30pm. i was STOKED!! i've been there several times since i lived there but haven't been able to spend much time enjoying it. Cal's is right outside of the Loop, which is very close to where i went to school and hung out at teh dorms. at first i was feeling pretty sick with memories and such. i don't have Sarah's number, so i couldn't get ahold of her to inform her of the show. she wouldn't have come anyway. if i know her, and i do, she was probably at a bar on the East side of town doing the same thing we were minus the good music, add a bunch of douche bags hitting on her and paying for her drinks. i think about Ryan constantly. he lived in my apartment building and was my only real friend from Chicago. he killed himself with heroine shortly after i moved back to Louisville. awesome. such a weird fucking story behind that guy. maybe i'll explain it sometime. so after the show, we drove through the Loop, passed by my old apartment and headed to Clarke's Diner. i used to go there at 6:00 in the am to get some breakfast and do my homework before school. as if that's special. it's not because that's what everyone does. it was about 4:30am Louisville time when we ate, then left town shortly afterward. i would have to say that the drive home was almost as fun as the show itself. we were fucking WIRED!! we talked the entire time and listened to a lot of pop-punk. FUN! my only regret is not seeing the In Tongues, Breather, Panda show Sat night. oh well, it's not like i haven't lived that. but i haven't. but i will. later.

luckily, the lack of sleep over the weekend allowed me to hibernate practically all day yesterday. here i am at 10:whatever and i didn't even stay up all night! i'm heading to work in a few minutes and everything's gonna be fucking cool.

a quote from Hunter:

"Beware-for your sake and mine; getting stories without wearing a tie is hard enough already." - HST 68'

i'm going to wear a tie until i get sick of it. so far it has worked to my advantage.
