It would be utterly insane for you to try it this year, I agree. Which is too bad, because I'm utterly intrigued by your thinking around your take on a non-monarchical, Eastern-influenced urban fae, particularly since I have some Pu Songling-inspired stuff in one of my novels. And I also have a much less feudal urban fantasy world going, and it would be fun to trade notes.
Here's an idea: want to trade world-building notes once a week during November somehow? That way you'll keep your hand/mind in, with no pressure, and you can bail if you need to.
Email, journal posts, chats all work. Chats are hard to schedule, though, and email and journal posts are do-whenever, comment-whenever. Something to be said for that.
