Well, after being at the same job for over 11 years, I am now unemployed. I was part of the big layoff/bloodbath at Metro today.

Right now I'm just really kind of numb. cubziz has been inrecidbly supportive and is doing his best to keep my spirits up and advise me on what to do/not to do since he's gone through this before in recent times. The last time ( Read more... )

Holy hell, Hunter. That totally sucks. Loyalty obviously counts for nothing anymore. i don't have any real advise because i know that if it happened to me, i wouldn't have the slightest idea as to what to do. You've got a good man by your side though, so that's a start. i'll keep my eyes and ears open for any openings.

Hunter, big bear hugs babe. I know this is unexpected and you feel like the world was just pulled out from under your feet. It has happened to me more than once. The best thing to do is not to take the time to really let it get to you. Start making calls and putting in applications today. This enthusiasm is what will get you through, along with Tony and your friends.

Keep your head up and your spirits high and I know you will have a better job that you will enjoy and be good at very soon man.

I am sorry to hear that happened I read about it on Cubziz' journal.

I won't tell you how to feel, just that you should feel. It will take some time to process through how you feel and being upset or even sad is OK.

The most important part is that you will be OK, you will find something new and who knows, it may even be possible it is something you will like better, stranger things have happened.

The important thing is to keep things in perspective and keep a positive mental attitude. A lot of folks, myself included, have been where you are and there is indeed, another side you come out of.

Just take a deep breath, gather yourself and evaluate where to start.

Networking for headhunters is a great place to start.
