Wow, I really dig how this one came out! Just outta curiosity, do you cut & stitch each of the spots? Or do you do some of 'em with airbrush/paint/whatever? I only ask cause I'm working on a few small freckles at the moment, so my eyes are immediately drawn to such things. :)

There are somewhere around 20 hand sewn spots on this guy, in both long and short pile areas... Though the spots on the muzzle are made out of a nice brown/white cowprint fur I found which I was pretty thrilled about getting to use. I like the aesthetic of handsewn spots VS airbrushed/painted/etc. handsewn ones last longer, and don't ever bleed or fade. Occasionally I will use watered down acrylic paint for detailing work up.

Ug, and I'm only doing six or so! o.O' I must say, the cow print was genius. I side with you, in that [while yes, they are more tedious] sewn spots just look more... real [and, like you said, don't fade/bleed]. It really adds to the whole look of your suit. Well done! :)
