Any brands in particular you favor? So far I've only had two - Paulaner and one other at a German restauran whose particulars evade me. I think so far Paulaner is the favorite though I'm sure there are plenty of other tasty ones out there.

oh joy!! hefe's are my absolute favorite!! and paulaner is a top choice! you should also try Ayinger Ur-Weisse...it is most excellent. really heavy though. you might have to go to a fancy pants liquor store to find it. I think whole foods carries it...

Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier, that's a good one too that you can find most places. it has a monk on the label!

also, Flying Dog In-Heat Wheat and Pyramid Hefeweizen are among my favs...

Lauren I miss you!!!! Haha, I think German = beeraholic, at least for the German half of my family. I am developing the same sort of snobbery for beer that most winos have for wine. I actually can't drink wine (mostly red), the smell makes me ill, but I serioulsy crave the fizz-a-licious taste of beer...mmm...beer and exotic cheese...

I'm going hunting for those beers now...haha Flying Dog-In-Heat Wheat!!!

You need to come back to Austin soon! And when you do we shall have to celebrate!!! Let me know when you are back and either you can come down for a San Antonio "vacation" some weekend (if you come before New Years we can go looking at all the beautiful lights on the rivewalk) or I can journey to Austin to visit you. I was thinking about having a mini-New Years get together so if you could come that would be great!!!
