I'm back! And I'm going to a wake that may turn into a bit of a fiasco today....

This past month or so was pure hell. I finally got my meds from the pharmaceutical company. Of course, I had a bad reaction to them and ended up going to the ER 2 nights in a row and also to my doc's office 2 days in a row. Finally, they switched me to something else and it works! I've been taking the new stuff for 2 weeks now. No side effects ( Read more... )

I haven't read LJ in a while so apparently I missed a whole lot - What happened with your insurance testing you were doing for the new career? -- Or did you settle in with the youth program and ebay and art?

Sorry to hear about your friend's death. When a person I know son suicided a 1 1/2 years ago, the decided to have a celebration of his life. For the funeral, they played the music he liked and everyone wore something orange, his favorite color. Maybe, the band playing idea will be alright. N

So sorry about the insurance test stuff. I am terrible at tests. Once I wanted to be an optician. I passed the test by one point and I only passed because I think they felt sorry for me. I never took college entrance exams. Never took the GRE for graduate school. I searched for a program that did not require it. That is how I found social work. There are not real tests even in undergraduate classes. Then when it was time for the licensing test for as independent clinical social worker, I again only passed by one point. I always second guess myself. I was 43 by the time I finished school. Now at 55 I finally have a job on an inpatient mental health unit where I wanted to work since I realized I could never be an archaeologist --- You will figure out where you are headed. It sometimes just takes time. N

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm not really worried about where i'm headed. I just re-discovered my love of collage today. Just started one that so far includes a photo of Stonehenge, a bat drawing from an old dictionary and a skeleton from Nat'l Geographic. Still searching for other stuff to add to it. I've also spent the majority of the day checking out the websites and works of collage artists. Maybe I'll even be able to do something interesting with my own photos...and just maybe, be able to make a living doing something I really enjoy somehow...ha!
