New found freedom

Geoff is now taking CalTrain to work everyday. It eases stress for him, since he doesn't have to deal with traffic on the highway, and he also gets to write code for PseudoQuest during the 1 hour train ride. This also means that I have use of the car during the day ( Read more... )

Hooray!
I'm definitely a creature of habit. Every once in a while I'll have this revelation that "oh, I *can* do that!" Do you have a membership to the zoo? I'm hoping to get one. Had one when I lived with Shawn and Anastasia and it made it super easy to just go and not worry about needing to leave if she had a tantrum. Daily admission can be killer, but if you just have to flash a card and get it, it's no biggie.

What about the library? They will sometimes have story time for tots and that could be a good place to meet some new friends. :)

I've joined a group called Golden Gate Mothers Group. Each month I get a newsletter with a calendar listing out free days at the zoo (for San Fran residents only), free days at the Academy of Sciences, story days at various libraries, and other activities that are free with admission to museums. I hadn't gone to any of these before because transportation was an issue. Now there is lots more freedom.

I will look into a zoo membership, though. We've not been to the SF zoo before, and I want to. I was actually thinking about trying to make our first visit this weekend (cuz I know Geoff wants to be there for the first go, to see Lucien react to the animals).

Little kids make the best partners in crime because they can't tell anybody what you did and they don't care if you get down-in-dirty and embarass yourself while playing with them! They just care about great experiences and having fun. I hope you have lots more of that now!
