Isn't it kind of illegal to refuse to rent to someone from a specific ethnic background?

It's totally illegal. And the cover page of the application says the property management company doesn't judge based on ethnicity, gender, etc., etc., etc. So I'm hoping that we're wrong or that the management company stands up to the homeowner and says, "You can't toss this application out because they're not Asian."

We look damn good on paper (having looked at our credit reports and scores last night), so if our application is the first one in, there's no reason we shouldn't be approved.
