When did your love of Hello Kitty everything begin?

My mother's sister loves all things feline. Shortly after I was born, she came down to Texas to live with us and help my mom with my brother and I. She was there for about a year. When she left, a coffee mug with Hello Kitty and her friends waiting for the school bus was left behind. For as long as I remember, this was my favorite mug. So much my favorite that when my aunt came to live with us in Colorado when I was 8, she again left the mug when she moved out.

I really didn't own much else Hello Kitty until about 5-6 years ago when HK merchandise was suddenly widely available. I can't help myself, because she's so darn cute. Now, she's taking over the house. But not as completely as for this guy.
