I reviewed this on fanfiction, but then I read the story a couple more times and I had more to say. Fanfiction would not let me post a second review so I figured I would put my comments here. I hope that is okay ( ... )

Hello! Thank you so much for your two reviews! Sorry about the lack of reply on FF.N-- I just started my semester and so this week has been a little busy. ...Plus, I always forget that we can actually respond to reviews on FF.N ( ... )

'Thou' is actually the archaic informal/singular form in English, roughly equivalent to 'tu' (and 'you' to 'vous'). We just associate it with "old-timeyness," back when everyone was formal, and the Bible, which sort of uses it oddly compared with common speech. But it was originally used informally/intimately/disrespectfully/as a singular, to 'you' as formal/respectful/plural. It's not an exact analogue to the French tu/vous distinction, but I can see why a translator might try that to preserve the distinction somewhat.

cinaed, you might want to add a little author's note about that? I was actually a little thrown myself until I figured out what you were doing, and a lot of people are confused about thee/thou and ye/you in English...

Ooh, yes, good point on the confusion. I didn't really think about that, but yeah, definitely a good idea to clarify that if it's throwing people out of the story! Thank you for letting me know! I'll go and put in an author's note. :)

(I am enjoying this a lot so far, but not up to the comments it deserves right now--I shall be back later!)
