I love that song. It's what I had blaring from my speakers when I drove out to PA.

LET'S GO RACIN' BOYS!!!

I'm ready and counting down to the 30th Daytona 500 and getting to watch it with my friends! :D

LOL Swifty was going to take to out for dinner and a movie tomorrow night (celebrate V-day early) but we decided to just do dinner and spend a romantic night watching the Shootout! (We NEED our fix!)

I love racing, but I have a hard time enjoying watching race car events. I mean, my father was an amateur race-car driver, and I even got to ride with the Marlboro team at the MI International Speedway (won a contest), and while I can greatly appreciate the sport and the skill, I just can't get into watching it.

Maybe it's because I'm jealous and I'd rather be doing it than watching it. =^^=

In any case, the skill required is incredibly impressive.

Even after everything that's gone on in the past few months, I still can't really see Dale Earnhardt Jr. in any car other then the #8 Budweiser Chevy. Granted, he's given me a reason to actually root for Hendrick Motorsports to some extent, but I think it's going to take a while for that to click with me. :P

It's also remarkable how so many drivers from open wheel racing are drifting toward NASCAR now. With Juan Montoya, Jacques Villeneuve, Patrick Carpentier, Dario Franchitti and Sam Hornish Jr., most of whom have won championships in IRL, CART or Formula 1, it really makes NASCAR look like the series that brings all the great racers together. :)

In any case, the Daytona 500 draws ever closer. Lookin' forward to goin' racin'. :D

And congrats on your new job, too!
