Last Friends Ep 6

I love the show because what it presents rings true about life today. It may be predictable yet the impact it has hits more profoundly simply because we can relate to it.

I KNEW IT! HA had to get that off the chest.

One spoiler early from the start of the show was that there will be a Ruka-Takeru-Michiru love triangle. Let me digress for a moment, I almost didn't watch the show because the sypnosis didn't spark an interest in me other than the male make-up artist bit and best friends. LOL. Anyway I found it hard to believe in Michiru and Takeru relationship before this episode, I was doubtful of the development of the r/s because of the tight schedule it had (11 episodes turned 12 dang it!) but boy was this episode packed with the supporting bits.

One episode people! ( There were slight hints in the front.) Ehm actually I don't rmb any concrete proof of the love r/s but there is this impression.

Also Takeru & Ruka shares a very comfortable chemistry which is hard to miss and feel for.

There are issues of identity, love, and more...but I was somehow intent on discovering my doubts (michiru-takeru r/s plausibility).

Why does Michiru fall for takeru? (Seeing it is she who likes him and he likes Ruka.)
He's in a way her knight of shining armour when Ruka was no longer so. He never gave up on her. He's the only one who had stuck it out and went all the way to care, something she will truly treasure and cherish because she has lack of love. Takeru was willing to fight for her when noone else did it, Ruka stopped doing it.

During that particular time, Michiru was alone, by herself, suffering. She feels useless and guilty. She blames herself, she finds herself too worthless for any other being to care for. The two "rocks" of her life which she had happily thought was the love of her life, Sousuke and Ruka were no longer there for her. They were the ones who had affirmed her. But suddenly, they were gone. Thus, she allows herself to be the way she is. Thoughts becomes belief and in turn the values Michiru has. There is a negation of life. Michiru was never strong, she says herself that she is weak, she believes in it. Hence, she cannot stop it when she wants to.

Why does she keep going back to Sousuke?

It's like a drug. You can't stop yourself from going back even if you know it is wrong for you. It is self-destructive. But you know you're weak in stopping yourself. You need help, you know it is difficult, you know how terribly painful it is when you stop it, you know you cannot gurantee that you will not relapse and when that happens, you will disappoint those who are supporting you. They don't deserve this. You were nothing anyway, you will only make those who care for you sad and frustrated. If you disappear, they wouldn't feel this way, they wouldn't be troubled. It would be better for everyone else. And Sousuke... if you leave him, it will be difficult to not blame yourself for what that happens to him. He doesn't have anyone else. You know how it feels, and if you were to remove yourself from him, it's your fault for making him the way he is. And you and him was once happy together...

Why does she let Takeru take off the patch to see her bruises? Why does she go out with him to the cafe? Why does she lie to Sousuke?

Simple, because this is not the life she wants. She wants him to see the bruises because she still wants to be saved. He could save her, there is this thread of possibility. Even if she may be a failure, she could still get out of this life... And Takeru becomes her saviour. He is caring and gentle, concern and sensitive to her needs. He protects her when she has no one else. She wanted someone to lift her from her problems, to care for her and give her support, and he does. He's not asking for amorous attention but she can't help but feel greatful for him, thankful, because he in a way becomes her light in darkness.

eeks, he looks like an angel in white. XD and eri is so cute.

Also very importantly, he listens to Michiru. No matter how small she is, he listens most attentively and becomes her quiet strength to some small extent. It's easy to be dependent and reliant on him because he had given his offering hand and does things to make her feel happy. (Could it be partly of Ruka? But I think mostly because it's his nature to a larger extent.) Michiru is lonely. She's also scared of facing everyone else in the sharehouse. She also feels guilty over what she did to Ruka and the others. Yet Takeru is still there. She feels either at ease (he has this feeling/the kind you can spill everything to in confidence) or desperate to talk to someone. She tells him how she feels.

Ehm other comments, HAHAHA RYO you are small. Ryo in a suit mmmm ♥ (not in relation to Sousuke okay). He always looks pale. And that suddenly showing up stunt is creepy. If he can find out a lot of stalking things, why hasn't he figure out where Takeru works? I don't think it's a secret. mmm mmm and about barriers to heart, aye aye. Oh and I wanted to talk about identity issues but apparently I rambled long enough. A LOT of work I have yet to do.

So this is just some ramblings. I'm sure my views/opinions may change, I would learn new things when I rewatch the show. I kinda watch it bit by bit the episode.

Why does Sousuke go all DV? (some brief thoughts after Lin's question)
- a way of asserting himself and control over Michiru
- need to control the situation; he apparently cannot live without Michiru
- way of tying her to him
- agressive/basic/primal way of expressing himself
- afraid to lose her

PS. I WANT THAT PICNIC BAG LIKE FROM NOVENA. It's not hard to guess I am partial to Michiru because I relate to her the most.

Ah yeah DONT got back to him.
Takeru - Neechan OMG I DON'T want to think about it.
And there was one more thing I wanted to say but it slipped my mind.
