And for what it's worth, I call my dog "my brown eyed girl." I think translated it means, "I love you more than anything on earth. Even the cat."

Heh. Granny got a little explicit, eh? Amazing how there's a certain point when some of our elders deem us adult enough to allow for frank discussion. My own grandma did, and it's always really weird.
