yeah. i haven't updated cuz this week has been soooooo hectic!!
last weekend was the retirement party and it was pretty alright. my cousin's husband who's a navy recruiter kept bugging me to join the navy all day. hi. i'm NOT JOINING THE NAVY. weirdo! my gradmother is in town. she's crazy. just straight up wack crazy.. but that's ok, she's old. what do you expect. i'm SO PROUD of my dad though.... out of over 100 people only about 6 or 7 didn't show. that's 100 INVITED. who has that kind of turn out???? my father. cuz he rules. the end and forever end. earlier tonight our oldddddd olddddd dog was like. coughing.. and he was just giving her this look like "i hate you and i want you to die right now" haahahha as if colleen was his archnemisis. hahahhahaha it was REAL funny and i couldn't stop laughing!!!
my mom had the genius line of the weekend though,
sunday morning... while in my pjs...
me: so i have to go to wiseway (grocery store) but all i have with me is dress shoes, think people will look at me funny?
mom: julia, have you BEEN to our wiseway lately? they'll probably try to STEAL your shoes....
hahahhaha so great.
monday at work, bobokon (our business editor who is the best source of entertainment at work ohhh that guy's great) asks me if i could babysit his kids (the ones that are always hanging out at my desk on fridays... krista is mini-julia. definately. we even wear the same hair accessories. she's 4. haahhhahah) so hahahah i had to take them to my apt that night and we watched cartoons and played with toys and the light brite and made kool aid. and christian (he's 8) kept going to the kitchen and stuffing his pockets full of oreos and acted like i wasn't watching hahahahaha. so great.
tuesday after work i saw scary movie with chad. it was funnier than i thought it would be. and i annoyed the people in front of me because i laugh REAL loud. i thought chad was going to bust open laughing at a fart joke hahaha. chad's so great cuz we just talk about crank yankers and howard stern and jerry springer for like. hours. haahahah.
and then. wednesday. i left work at 3:30 to beat rush hour traffic cuz i drove into the city. luckily, lynne' had the same idea.. so we ate some food and harrassed the guy at strange cargo and stalled going to the phantom planet show.. bought some radio4 at the record store next to the venue. and then went to the show.. man. i used to know a whole LOT more chicago fans... it's a whole new crowd now though. lynne' and i stood in the balcony and spotted claire. socialized with claire and her classmates who haven't gotten the memo that darren is lame (sorry siobhan... i was just kidding....) and then i went to look for rachel and saw the people she came with.. who DON'T know me.. but i know THEM.. haahahaha. and i was all "hey.. where's rachel?" hahaha creeeeepy. then we saw KAYTEEEEE and it was shrieks all around. jb walked by and i just kept talking to my friends, but gave a BIG greeting to pete. PEEETE!!! and suzie tried to jip me outta a big brat single. cut it out suz. behave.
then we saw sandyyyyyy yay!!! and then emily showed!!! hurray!!! and her rad rad mum!!! it was real great. so that was pretty fun. it felt like a cocktail party and i would go mingling, talking to friends... ahhahah real damn fun.
oh. did i mention that phantom planet started at 9? and i had to leave for the kimya show at 8:30? yeah. so uhhh i saw ben lee perform and that was goooood.. and then i turned the middle staircase at the metro into a rooney conert when i was SHRIEKING because jimmy v. was there. i would have said hi/grabbed his ass if darren hadn't been talking to him. because then i'd have to talk to darren and all i wanted to do was say hi/grab jimmy v.'s ass.
emily's mom and i shaked it like a polaroid picture. don't be jealous.
and then i had to go back to merch to retrieve my coat outta coat check. confused much suz? oh well. so then i hightailed it to kimya and caught most of her set (it was about 20 min away and my goodbyes took longer than expected haha) and she did REAL great... just real great and the crowd was small and supportive and no one was talking over her set like rudeness at all. she came over and we chatted about the halloween shows and then elkland played. they were REAL good dancy cool ... but their ep is real dang bad. eh. whatcha gonna do. after elkland, kimya told me all about the new album (guest appearance by bk! huzzah!) and her third eye blind tour maybe and i thanked her for getting me in and bid my goodbye (so i missed stars....i kinda wanted to catch them...)because i had to meet up with brian at the mcdonalds by the metro... brian and i went to clarks where meredith was already there and he plotted about how we are going to go to wisconsin dells and pass out fliers to a hotel party we'll throw for the locals. hahahaha dork. we listened to big brat and the bootleg ep and ehhhh. don't throw things at me. but i don't like big brat. or meantime. or 1st things 1st. sigh.
and so ended my 17th phantom planet concert night where i saw three bands who were not phantom planet
got home at 2. so i'm tireeeeddd. seattle tomorrow! shopping!! friend!! adam!! hurray!!
ohhh and today i talked to phil. hahahhaa.i called him to see if he wanted to go to firey furnaces next week and he goes "doll! i was gonna call you to see if on the yyy day you wanted to have a rock out with your cock out day!!" hahahahahaha
