There aren’t many things that I love more than watching people sign while they speak. Its so much prettier than anything! Sometimes I try to use a lot of hand gestures when I talk to get the same effect, but i think it just comes off as looking sofa king stupid. If I knew sign language, you could bet I’d be using it all of the time ( Read more... )

have you been to the little city south of the capitol? i went there for the first time during my break yesterday, it's good bike riding distance and a pretty decent place.

I hate drinking meat.

I think I've told you this before, but my brother took Portuguese at UT, and my stepmom speaks (only) Portuguese. My dad learned it, too, so he could talk to her.

Also! I took ASL my freshman year of high school. We were the first class it was ever offered too and it was amazing and fun. My final exam was to sign a SONG. I signed that Natalie Cole song (L is for the way you look at me). How easy is that? Anyway, I tried taking it my sophomore year but my teacher could hear, which made tests harder, so I quit. My aunt speaks fluent ASL though and it's awesome. You should learn it. If you frequent the HEB on Oltorf enough, you will see all the kids from the Tx School of the Deaf there. I once went to a wrestling tournament at that school and it was really quiet. Deaf kids were the first people I ever saw to use text messages and TMobile Sidekicks as a cell phone. They just sit there all day texting away like it's nothing.

thanks, writing majorrrr. I just switched the two for clarification.. I'm sure there is a better way to fix it than that and you can tell me how stupid i am if you want :(:(

your family is so representative of my dreams! and I'll check out heb, but i dont want to see a whole lot of kids sitting around text messaging. BORING.

Fine then, just drive down Congress and Oltorf and you will see them waiting for the bus signing away like it's no one's business!

THAT'S OK. I'm not complaining about your poor grammar :(((( JUST KIDDING. I'm not picky, I was just clarifying.

Anyway, I will adopt all three of the Gayles as DeLucas. I think we adopted Heather a long time ago. I wouldn't mind another little sister!

ok, so in 9th grade I took preAP english and it was the first time any of us had ever had to write real papers in school and we thought it was SoOoOoo hard. and towards the end of the year, my teacher announced a fun day (to reward our hard work?) and she passed out crayons and slips of paper with sentences that we were supposed to illustrate.

mine said something like "I ate the pie in the refridgerator" and like an IDIOT I just drew a guy eating pie. i was SUPPOSED to draw a little guy inside of a refridgerator eating the pie. and i was the only person in my class who didnt catch on and i was sooooo embarrassed. i thought it was really just a fun day of drawing pictures! i had no idea we were still learning. so dumb.

there is this hearng impaired boy in my biology class and he was also in my lit class last semester and they have signers for him and all i do is watch them instead of watching the teacher. also i watch tv with the closed captioning on. i think i secretly want to be deaf, but not really.
