Why don't you apply to do your RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol)? I think they offer it at uni, and it doesn't cost that much to do...it could be worth spending the cash as it would allow you to work in cafes, bars, etc., - alot of the places you have been applying to. I got to do mine for free (Safeway paid for it) when I used to work in liquor but I would recommend going to the DUSA site and seeing when it's on offer and if you can apply to do it, it would be well worth your time and money. Also, for cafes they want you to already know how to work a coffee machine, which is easy once you get the hang of it (someone taught me incorrectly how to froth milk so I used to get this crappy little amount of froth because I let the nozzle bubble at the bottom of the jug, whereas you are meant to let it bubble just under the surface of the milk). It's going to be hard for someone your age to get another job though...maybe you will have to go back to fast food because it is where you have experience. You wouldn't consider going to a Red ( ... )

yeah, i'm going to apply for the RSA course. its only $25 for Deakin students, but it's not for another month. Bec showed me how to use a coffee machine when i went to her shop a couple of weeks ago. it is pretty easy

Oooh I was going to suggest http://www.vicbar-school.com, but nevermind since you can get your RSA certificate for so cheap. I have mine but I think I need a refresher. Basic stuff though. No serving alcohol to intoxicated people. YEAH RIGHT.

Hope bowling was fun, I am BUMMED about that.

Ah.. why do all fast food places do that?

I think getting an RSA would be worth the investment and you could probably get student's prices [?]
Another popular choice is working at the cinema's = discounted movies/sneak your friends in :D

I'VE BEEN TO THE STRIKE BAR ON CHAPEL!! Hehehehe.. That is the coolest bowling place ever. There isn't anything like that in Sydney. I dont know why noone has brought it up here too because it would make a mint. A girl working there kept giving me drinks, it was fantastic! That sounds awesome.. nice choice for a birthday :)
