I've seen a few people posting about the last decade and it seems like a good idea. Journals are for remembering, right? So here's what I've done the last 10 years, a significant portion of my life:

2000:
16 years old. Finish Sophomore year of high school and was hired for my first job, working at Target, which would be opening later in the summer. Traveled to east coast with parents to visit aunt. Returned and started work at Target, stocking shelves before the grand opening, then doing cart pushing and cashier afterward. (By the way, $5 says the code to the service desk is still 072300, which is the official opening date of that store.)
Started Junior year of high school.

2001:
I won a trip to New York to watch a viewing of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" in March and went there with my Dad. Had the opportunity to get free tickets to Letterman, but it happened to be the same night as Millionaire, so we had to pass. Among other things while there, we went and stood atop the World Trade Center.
Dad started his own business, a trophy store, and I worked there when not at Target.
That summer, went to Smashmouth concert in Great Falls, which was canceled because the lead singer's baby son had died the year before. On the way home, I hit a deer, essentially totalling my car, (1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Siera) which would be replaced eventually with a 1995 version of the same thing.
Started senior year of high school. 9/11 happened. I worked at Target that night, which was the only time Target sold newspapers, a special extra edition printed that afternoon.

2002:
Graduated high school and was accepted into MSU. At orientation, settled on Electrical Engineering. First semester of college, and first time away from home. Worked at Target in Bozeman, hated it.

2003-2005:
Continued college and Target. Transferred back to Helena Target for the summer, started Warhammer 40k for a total of 2 months or so before returning to Sophomore year of school, this time without transferring back to Target. Continued with school, returning to Helena for the summer, working at Target, and working in the cafeteria at school, and later the library.

2006:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. With no ready job prospects, I get a job with the state counting cracks for the summer. Travel across most of MT. Decide to return to college for a second Major, in Computer Engineering.

2007:
Drop second major and go for Master's Degree instead. Second summer working for MDT. Attend Anthrocon, Sakuracon, and a Warhammer tournaments in Portland and later Seattle. Grandfather died the day before my birthday. I would eventually get his car, a 2001 GMC Jimmy, my current vehicle.

2008:
Work as a teaching assistant, and then a Research assistant. Spend summer finishing my degree and turn in my final report, graduating on 08/08/08. Best man at one of my cousin's weddings in Helena. Next month, fly to Phoenix for a different cousin's wedding. Working at Black Bull until October, then Jay Owenhouse for two months.

2009:
Quit Owenhouse to work at Dick Anderson Const. as a laborer. Worked for one and half weeks before getting laid off due to lack of work. Unpleasant job that will not be missed. Next several months spent looking for work. During this time, parents moved the location of the business from one part of Helena to another, and I spent most weekdays there helping prepare the new store, leaving little free time. Friends seen mostly just on weekends when I went back to Bozeman. Not a happy time for me, made worse when one of my roommates moved out with no warning. Missed him as a friend, and subsequently had a higher rent to pay.
Moved into current place and finally got a job working with MDT again, this time as a construction inspector. Highest paying job of my career, though well below what my degree should earn. Laid off in December, with the possibility of rehire in several months. Currently unemployed.
