OMG this game looks AWESOME!!! No monthly fees, and even works fine on a dialup connection! This has to be like, the holy grail of online RPGs :-)

Wait until I show hubby. I think he'll definitely want this game! Heck *I* want this game but I think I'll be a bit busy looking after the little one for the next 6-12 months so I won't really be able to put any time into it. He on the other hand, will have a 9-5:30 mon-fri job that will allow him to spend a portion of his weeknights and weekends working on his character(s).

Thanks for bringing this awesome looking game to my attention! :-)

Wow, that's quite a response.

You're welcome. I was impressed by some of the features but especially the no-pay thing.

I recommend GWOnline for much more in-depth info, especially regarding the professions and all their skills. That's what I spent most of last night reading.

There are also some screenclips in the official gallery (link in post) that are wmv. Being WMV they don't show nearly as much loveliness as the screenshots but show things in action if you're interested. Being dial-up, perhaps not.

Depending how much you read before coming back to swoon (thanks for the comment, by the way) you may notice that there are no servers or shards so if you were so inclined, we could play together one day. :)

I'm planning on an Elementalist/Monk at this point but sorting out only 8 skills total to take on each mission will be an interesting strategic element.

Since I recall you posting about severe boredom a while back, assuming bubs lets you stay seating without pain, perhaps you can do some researching of your own. :)

LOL I'm not on dialup, but I am impressed that it works on such. That will tempt a few more people to buy it, especially in this country where broadband isn't always available. (It would also mean that it's playable from my parents house in woop woop ;-))

Hubby is being more and more impressed by the minute. I think this might be another game he adds to his collection. Hopefully we can score a key for next month's beta weekend (I'm gonna keep watching the website) and he can give it a try out before deciding if he wants to part with his money. I wish they had an open beta though, cuz that would be much more helpful to decide whether folks want to buy the game. (A la WoW)

I didn't realise WoW was an open beta. Shame, I could have tried it. Wouldn't have mattered, though; Pay-To-Play as I've mentioned a few times now. :)

I'm not confident that my pre-order will be a package as the site says, including a key so I'm hoping to nab one (that site loaded SO slowly during the first day and by the time it loaded the key giveaway was closed, that was a bastard.)

Keep me posted on your (both) impressions if you like. My brother's not interested so I've no one to talk too. :)
