Bloody Google

Taking over everything in sight and making existing users of whatever it was jump through ever-changing hoops to get access. Or not. This is not the first time this has happened and now I think I've had enough. Think I'm going to abandon my other blog and start a new one when I've had time to look around and see what other blogging platforms are ( Read more... )

What have they taken over now? Is this your historical blogspot one? I always read that - I'm unfortunately terrible at actually posting a comment but I always read and enjoy it and have thoughts I would like to share, then I forget before I get round to pulling the words together. Yes, it's that one. When I set it up, I just set up an account with Blogspot with an email address and password, job done. Then Google took over and decided everything had to go through them, with Google profiles and whatnot. I managed to get back in then, no idea now how I did it ( ... )

Hi, hope you're well, and that it's OK to contact you here (I'm not sure whether the email address I have for you is still valid).

I wonder if you could help me with a history question? I need to know the meaning and implications of someone being referred to as "The Younger" [of that name].

This could have a major effect on how I fit people together in my family tree, so I want to make sure I'm not reading more - or less - into the usage than it will bear.

I've tried writing it all out with changed names etc for anonymity, but all that Fred1 and Fred2 of TownX and VillageY stuff got far too complicated, so I wonder if it would be OK to email or PM you the details?

Many thanks,

DG
