In which town is she giving the talk? Is there something you could do there in the afternoon (library or art gallery or museum you could visit)? How early do you have to be up on Tuesday?

It's in Maidstone. Where I'll be in the morning is a library in a museum, and there are some things there I'd like to read. Costa is just across the road and there's a Wetherspoon opposite the talk venue, for when the museum and Costa close.

I have to be up at 7.50 on Tuesday, and if I go to the talk I'd expect to be home about 8.45, having gone out about 8.30 in the morning. I do get to lie in on Wednesday.

Six hours is quite a long time to have to fill in. I wouldn't mind three hours or so.
