It's called Stalemate by clueless_02. It's short but lovely, and it really captures the essence of the characters!

There have been several other excellent TR stories in the past year or so (by madamedarque, jackiejlh, perverseparagon and daybreak777, among others, but they've all been posted at lfn_fanfiction or at An Archive of Our Own, so I knew people would be able to find them. But this one was just on a personal LJ, so I wanted to be sure it wasn't overlooked!

I think I've read all those - or, at least, the more recent ones on lfn_fanction. I'll double check and make sure.

I'm still not quite on board with the Archive of Our Own shop. Not cause I have anything against it... just not in the habit yet.

AO3 is mildly inconvenient, as there's no way to subscribe to get notices when there are new stories in a fandom or by an author (a feature that ff.net has, and I really like). And because I find that AO3 loads reaaalllllyyyyy slllooooowwwwwwlllllyyyyy, I don't like checking there very frequently. I expect that someday both of these things will be fixed, but for now it means that I only check there maybe once a month. (I have uploaded all my own stuff there, though. It works really well for long, chaptered fic, unlike LJ.)
