the debate

Well, today I responded to a very liberal posting on a weblog. I won't say which one, because I actually like the guy's writing, and he seems like a decent enough guy. Instead of responding to my questions of his stance, he skirted the issue and tried to save face. In the great debate of ideas, liberalism just doesn't hold water, and when ( Read more... )

if the only mode of discourse you understand... chaodai March 7 2005, 00:58:44 UTC
...is a verbal street fight, i won't give it to you.

sorry to disappoint.

as far as not responding, i essentially said that i had said my peace on the subject in a rather lengthy way in my essay and didn't feel the need to rehash it for your benefit.

the only question to which you truly seem to want an answer is whether or not i am ready to meet violence with violence. and judging by the way you frame your arguments, the only answer you want is a "yes."

so here's your answer, posted to your live journal with my signature for all to see -

Javi, I appreciate that you took the time to post a comment on this journal. I also hope you understand why I was so insistent upon an answer to my question, though I am not sure I actually got it. Javi, thank you for proving that each and every one of us can find common ground. Any man who will eat chicken fried steak three times a day must be known as my comrade and my friend. If ever you are in Houston, or the nearby vicinity, it's my treat. Keep in mind, that I have always felt that a man's reach should always exceed his grasp. One of my main goals in life is to eat chicken fried steak at every place in America that serves it. Doable? Probably not, but it will sure be fun trying!!!!!
