i first figured this out, like, eight years ago and made a spreadsheet to calculate the number of days i was. at the time i thought it would be cool to have a 10000th Day party, but forgot for myself and then again for Shelly's. i did include leapyears because i'm a math geek. once in college, for fun, a roommate and i computated how much helium (and subsequently, how many helium-filled balloons) it would take to lift me off the ground and if it was financially feasible (it wasn't).

Do you watch Mythbusters? They actually tested this. It takes a crap load of balloons, but they were actually able to lift a little girl (they did it inside a warehouse so she wouldn't float away). If you don't watch this show, you should check it out (Discovery channel).

i have watched the show on occasion but missed that episode. it was really hard for us to figure the number of balloons because our calculations for the volume they contain was pretty inexact. but the amount of helium was like 3800 sq. ft. -- and that was when i was about 20 lbs lighter.
