Went and got glasses. Not to Lenscrafters, but to one of those discount glasses places that advertises a good rate for two pairs. Basically just went with whatever the lady suggested, and got a regular pair and a pair of prescription sunglasses ( Read more... )

You can expect to feel funky for a bit with corrected vision. Even when I get a script change I feel bleh for a bit (couple days) . Like your walking and the ground looks closer ro something weird...

You'll adjust, periphereal vision too.

Everyone's self conscious at first, even with web cams. ;)

not self-conscious, at least not as far as how the glasses make me look. I've never liked how I look in pictures (or how I look in general).

I'm just kicking myself for going with these narrow frames. I really think a wider style would have been more beneficial. regardless of how they look aesthetically, I just think wider frames would mean a wider field of vision.

Shoulda just spent the extra money and went with LC, as I think they had some sort of like-it-or-return-it policy (or maybe I'm imagining that). plus they're alot closer, as opposed to clear over by Crossroads

I find positive self affirmations to be a good thing.

How are the sunglasses?
Well, go get another pair? You may not want to spend more money but at least that way you have something you like. Are your sunglasses a wider style? Better yet, see how much of a difference it makes on your periphreal vision and field of vision.
Then at that point think about picking up another pair. realize your out a bit of cash and stop kicking yourself.

sunglasses are more or less the same style.
I really should have thought more about the actual physics of lens shape and all that before buying.

Glasses take getting used to. And that reminds me, I need to go get my eyes checked. Has only been ohhh at least 5 years.

And I think they look nice on you ;)

Oh wow, I LOVE them! Great choice!

I don't think a wider lens would help as I used to think the same thing but when I tried to get bigger ones they made me even more sick because my eyes didn't learn how to adjust as well. You will get used to looking just through the lenses, start with just an hour a day and work up. Give them a month or so and if you are still not happy then consider a different kind but I think you will get used to them.

You are so adorable.
