Something I think we musically inclined people forget is how great it is to work with music. I bet if you told the average joe "The day would likely involve my going to work, working until 5 or so, coming home, working on the album (most likely rewriting the opening for a track called "modern man", and possibly finishing the mix), and then going to bed," s/he would gawk and say "that is sooooooooo coooool
( ... )
I don't think I've ever wondered early on in the day whether or not it would be exciting. I'm not sure whether or not that's a good thing, but I think it's ok. I generally assume the day will be alright, and then not worry about it. I think it's because I usually enjoy what I do with my day, which generally involves practicing, buying groceries, and taking care of business and my bodily functions. I also think that a satisfactory day (or at least several of them in a row) is a better than having an exciting day. Too much excitement wears one out. But then, I'm not a terribly exciting person. Except perhaps when I've been drinking. Then I'm a regular party animal.
