Wow what amazing feedback! You don't know how much it means to me. Seriously you have made my whole day and then some. I was nervous about posting this one, not going to lie. Mostly because it didn't quite turn out how I envisioned it would. I had an idea in my head of what the story would be when I started it and it went in another direction, kind of took a life of its own. My original plan was more comedic, less angst and thinky-thoughts, but well, Jim just wasn't cooperating, he wanted to brood, lol.

I always worry whenever I deviate from the original concept, because you know me, anal-retentive to the core. If there's something to worry about, I'll find a way to do it. ;)

I had a lot of concern that maybe the introspection aspect would lose my readers. You have helped to alleviate my anxiety. Feedback like this is worth more than gold *hugs you tight*. Truly I can't thank you enough.

And I quick glance at my flist just now has me excited because I see that you posted something, too. Yay!!! Definitely a cause to celebrate! :)

You know I've found when the characters take the story in a different direction to what I'd planned, I've always found that it was better than where I was trying to go, as though they have a better idea of their destiny than I do. I love it when it happens (frustrating though it can be) because it feels as though the story's taking on a life of its own.

While I can see the potential for a humorous take on that story, I really love what you did with it, because it showed a real depth to Jim we don't often see. He's so often portrayed as brash and thoughtless, taking what he wants without due consideration to the potential repercussions, and while he *can* be like that on occasion, I don't think he would be when it came to Spock.

I really enjoyed reading Jim's ruminations and it definitely didn't lose me. It's possible that some might have found it too 'thinky', but equally there will be others who don't necessarily enjoy humour, so it's all horses for courses. :)

I liked it so much! Especially the quiet pace and how I felt Kirk's doubts - even though he never doubted his own feelings.

And it's funny and probably silly as it's a K/S story and I know your writing and all but I found myself angsting about Spock's reaction, so deeply did you drag me into Kirk's mind!

Loved the conclusion.

Thank you for sharing!!

*blushes* Oh wow, I can't think of a greater compliment. Truly you have me beaming hugely. I'm so thrilled that you were able to feel the story, to get so deeply into Jim's head. This feedback is going to have me smiling for days. Thank you so much! *hugs*

“You don’t think I’ve looked? I didn’t enter the Academy intending to stay separate from humankind. In fact, it was my original intention to acclimate. Yet I never felt like I belonged with the human half of my ancestry any more than I’d felt welcomed amongst my Vulcan half... until I met you.”

Oh god this is such a beautiful declaration of love, it totally made me choke up! ♥

This was brilliant and a wonderful celebration of K/S Day - steeped in references to the first season of TOS up to and including "The Devil in the Dark" and a perfect coda to that episode. I loved the characterization of both Kirk, Spock and McCoy and I LOVED that Spock was the one to take the first step in the end ♥

Aw, what a wonderful story it turned out to be, darling. :D

A good old TOS classic, NC-17 to boot, and from you makes it feel like a glass of a really matured scotch, except I don't like scotch, so let's go with Bailey's and accept the premise that it gets better with age. ;)

I savored this. Thank you. ♥
