Summery: Kaylee's got an urge she can't explain. Pointless drivel because I was bored.
The urge to sleep with Jayne hit her suddenly and without warning.
One moment he was the slightly disgusting, disturbingly violent and frequently amoral crewmate he always had been. And the next…
Well, the next he was in her blood and she couldn’t seem to escape him.
The moment that changed everything was barely anything at all. They’d been surrounded by the rest of the crew, and no one had noticed a gorram thing. Which struck Kaylee as nothing less than a miracle, as she had felt flush to the tips of her toes and sure her heart beat was echoing off Serenity’s curved walls.
Such a simple, insignificant thing. The entire crew, sans Inara, were playing hoop ball. Even Simon and River had joined in this time, though neither of them were of much value to their respective teams. Play had gotten a little rough toward the end, and she’d been jostled backwards, sure she’d fall and land on the rough grating, only to feel strong, secure arms wrap around her body to catch her.
In the next second, he’d set her aside, his large hand lingering on the small of her back to make sure she was steady, and then dove head first back into the game. But the damage was already done.
The heat of his body seeped into her skin at a slow burn. Even hours later, safe in her own bunk filled with the smoke of incense she‘d borrowed from Inara, the tangy scent of gun smoke and sweat surrounded her. The lecherous curve his mouth taunted her, beguiling and repulsive all at the same time.
She tried to reason it out. Been a long time since she’d been with a man. Simon was as elusive a target as ever, and it was only natural to grow out of that particular crush. But… Jayne?
It wasn’t as though she didn’t care about him on some level, she loved all of Serenity’s crew. Just that, Jayne was, by and large, the hardest to love. He was all sharp edges and crude humor. Hard and unforgiving. Selfish. Violent. Mean.
She kept repeating those qualities in her mind over and over again, trying to convince herself that’s all he was. Steering her thoughts away from the memories of him wearing that stupid hat with boundless pride, sending his mama credits at every stop, going after the Captain and Wash against all odds, brushing that whore’s hair at the Heart of Gold, even though he’d already gotten his money’s worth. But it wasn’t working. No amount of rationalization could get him out from under her skin.
She wanted to sleep with Jayne.
Go se.
