Background: The last place anyone would have suspected Jay Park would end up is as a host. He was born to middle-class first generation Korean-American parents in the suburbs of Seattle, WA. He'd grown up with a passion for performing and a love for God. In school, he did well enough to progress without falling behind. All in all, he was an average child. It wasn't until his mother pressured him in to auditioning for a Korean entertainment company that things started to go down-hill.

When he auditioned, he was accepted without much hesitation. After saying good-bye to his friends and family, Jay was on a plane to Korea to begin his training. It didn't go well. Between the cultural and language barriers and the fact that he was incredibly homesick, he found it impossible to get his footing in the company. He was rowdy and so unbearable that, eventually, he was ejected from the company.

But he couldn't admit defeat to his parents. He knew how disappointed they'd be in him. So he left with the small amount of savings he had and found himself an apartment in the city. Called home regularly and told his parents that everything was fine. He was determined to make a name for himself now, no matter what, but being kicked out of a top entertainment company stuck with him as he went around to auditions and, without any other skills to hold down a steady job, he found his money running low.

One night at a club, Jay found himself chatting up a pretty dancer. Drunk, he poured her entire story out on the poor woman who, in turn, pointed him in the direction of an employer where you didn't need any sort of skills. Swallowing his pride (and his morals), Jay made the tough decision to go to Arirang Manor.

Personality: For lack of a better word, Jay's kind of an asshole. His personal life situation mixed with how much he hates what he's doing has him less than happy. With the few people who have managed to get past that, however, Jay is a great friend. He's incredibly goofy (almost to a fault) and he'll work hard to try and help someone he's close to out. When it comes to those he doesn't consider close, though, he tends to ignore them.

When it comes to work, though, he can be incredibly charming. He'll swallow whatever his personal feelings are on a situation to make the money he needs to make.
