Anyone know a Router brand

Oct 22, 2005 08:18

My home PCs keep getting R0. And this is even when I am still on AIM and can surf the Interweb. Its been a chronic problem since I can remember, but its been worse recently.

I have a Linksys wireless router that Im gonna plug in under just for the wireless, but I need a new device for the top level. Anyone got suggestions for a good Router

had netgear..it sucks dont get it. my house had 3 ppl playing ffxi and the router would crap out. i then bought a d-link gaming router, im sure you just type it in, and it hasnt r0'd yet. we have 4 ffxi running in the house now and ppl uploading/downloading. its lil pricy but well worth the money.

Just a couple questions: Are you running a B router? Is it 2.4ghz? Do you have a cordless telephone? I have all of the above in a linksys and narrowed my problem down to being the cordless that I keep in the room next to my computer room. It seems that it will only R0 when the phone is near or rings. I went out and bought a new router that I haven't installed yet (waiting on new computer) and hopefully that'll correct all the problems. I've heard that the G routers are much better when dealing with cordless.

let me know when you find a good one. I switched from Belkin to LinkSys when the Belkin was giving me problems. Now, the LinkSys is starting to crap out on me unless I restart the friggin thing before I start up the computer.
