I remember when Motorola was the largest employer in Arizona. This was in the mid-90s. Since then the company has continuously shrunk. Off the top of my head, here's what's happened to it so far:

• Closing down of various divisions (I sit in a former Motorola lab, in fact)
• Portion(s) purchased by General Dynamics
• On Semiconductor spun off
• Freescale
