Speaking of profiting in my spare time, one set of books I've taken a pass on is the Robert Kiyosaki Rich Dad, Poor Dad series. In a nutshell, he struck me as too "infomercially" and generally full of crap. It looks like I'm not the only one with this impression.

Just finished up The Ten-Day MBA, which took me a good bit longer than ten days to read, because I'm such a sucky reader (hence my lack of participation in the 50 Book Challenge). I guess I wasn't the only one driven up the freakin' wall by the screaming kid in that BMW commercial. I've noticed in recent commercials, they've reduced his volume considerably, thank God.

When I went to Europe in October, the Euro was exchanging at a rate of around $1.275(US)/EUR. I've been following the dollar vs. Euro since I got back, and it ain't good. As of yesterday, the exchange rate is $1.31(US)/EUR. Not good for the traveler (though not bad for the exporter). I'm hoping for a serious drop by the time I'm ready to travel ( Read more... )
