0's dont count as a value when they come before numbers, so they arent usually counted. like 000000001 is the same a 01 is the same as 1. 6-6-6 is how the day should mathematically read. but since we were in double digit year dates for the last like 900 years, its too difficult to drop back to one digit representing the year for ten years then stopping.
