Meh, that's not the first time I've heard that, and even if I did agree (and I don't care that we don't on such issues), it takes longer than a year for things to change. This was a Long Time Coming. :D
I will say only this. This was the type of acceptance/concession evening that made me feel unashamed of my nation's voting practice. The last several elections have been a mockery of the electoral process (starting all the way back at the Bush v. Dukakis days.) I did not hear any extraordinary hubris on either side, only the grim reality of the mess we are in as a nation, and hope that we can figure this mess out. I lost a lot of respect for McCain with the selection of Palin as a running mate, but his concession speech earned a lot of that respect back.
We have a long road ahead and both men seemed to be well aware of that fact.
