While "IN GOD WE TRUST" first appeared during civil war times (1864) it wasn't an official national term until 1956. All of which probably came from the Star Spangled banner.
E Pluribus Unum however (one from many) predates that. So to get angry about change from a "one true God" is to get angry we changed toward it in the first place.
All of this denies that separation of church and state are also incredibly important and where so in those times.
I'm not an atheist but that kind of angry logic always worries me.
That and I'm slightly bored and wanted to 'talk' to someone. :-P Workmates are always so quiet and subdued & I miss Shai.
