Uppsala, musings, etc.

Hey everyone. I have now been in Sweden for a little over a month, so I thought now would be a good time to muse over various things.

Stockholm/Elsewhere:A couple weeks ago I went with some friends to Uppsala (a Swede, a Bulgarian, and a Greek), an old university town about an hour by train north of Stockholm. My friend Karin used to go to ( Read more... )

Awesome, awesome, and awesome.

I loathe Palin too, but, as Deva reminds me, McCain was the one who condescended to nominate her.

Whatever the long-term effects of the Wall St collapse are, in the short term it's making my documentary more difficult, since Paul Schaefer had agreed to raise funds for me, but given that he's a financial adviser, he's been too busy lately...

Impact on you: Not much, you'll $till be in med $chool when the economy will turn around. You'll al$o become a doctor, and if any indication of the re$t is true, a pretty damn good one. So, you'll get paid. Private loan$ will be harder to get, but you'll be fine. Another long-term effect is that Obama will be the next president, Americans have finally lost all trust in current regime and McCain has been painted in that light.

Cool, thanks. And the Obama comment is definitely a positive spin on this whole mess.

How's law school/Seattle treating you? Are you as busy as you thought you'd be?

Law school is alright, just extremely frustrating, because I don't know how I am doing in the class until I take the final. I have no idea how Seattle is treating me, because all I do is eat, sleep, and study. I am busier than I thought I would be, but you could probably chalk it up to me being a slow learner and wanting to understand everything to the best of my ability.

But hey, it's only three years and the economy will be turned around by then, right? If not, I'll just go practice law in Alaska.
