An Open Question About LJ Etiquette

If someone is badmouthing you, by name, on their LiveJournal, is it proper to defend oneself on their journal? Or does one defend oneself on one's own journal? Or does one simply ignore the entire matter, and hope to deal with it face to face ( Read more... )

IMHO, do not respond on their LJ. Respond on your own. Do not offer to lock/hide it. Feel free to take comments or not, and hopefully be courteous, even on your own LJ, which is sort of taking the high road. (Me? I tend to rant. And apologize if I'm being an asshole, which I frequently am. But there are times when I can manage to be courteous, and then, I don't apologize.)
