the basil was on the counter it was to be used as a garnish a previous nights dinner but forgotten in the final rush (one of those dishes where all those bits come together in the final minute) soooo, it was planted in a espresso cup, and used in last nights dinner.
but found it's way into an image along the way
i often find myself photographing with no cognizant plan or reason, and i wondered what makes us inspired to take some of the pics we take.
the basil picture is beautiful! i love the light...feels peaceful. and like there is enough time. ? i hope that made sense. :D
jim, does somebody need to give you a talkin' to about your diet? somehow, bbq'd ribs don't sound like the healthiest snackie for someone who has to worry about what's behind his own ribs.
my diet is not that bad. really. it does have it's periodic divergence into the dark side of indulgence but that is the exception (like it's been over a year since i had ribs) last nights dinner was typical: grilled wild caught salmon marinated in mojo sauce, fresh local green beans steamed with julianne of carrots, very local corn on the cob. tonight: pork tenderloin with fresh ground asian spice rub, more corn, bulgar salad with tomato, parsley, red onion, kalamata olives and peas with lemon/basil/olive oil dressing. . . . or maybe quinoa instead of bulgur. . . don't know, maybe just a nice tossed salad.
i hope there is enough time. if not . . . at least i had the ribs. (-:
a couple of times in the year the light coming through the front kitchen window is quite nice . . . sort of like "kitchenhenge" with the teapot sitting there probably should have put the basil in the gaiwan that is usually there.
