Coming to terms with the rain:
I said I would be, a long time coming and uneasy to shake
You, only half smiled, when you have smiled and indicate
That we’re going to get wet before it’s dry again,
Mud sloshed boots and puddle jumping
Gutter formed showers and sort of dancing
No way to wait for it to clear up instead,
Coming to terms with the rain.
When we walked like that we had nowhere to go
And I gave you what could hold you off
You shared yourself in innocuous ways
And wandered through puddles pressed for change
We were not doomed from the start, believe it or not
You only raised one eyebrow, and all in all, deep in thought
But we’re going to get wet before it’s dry again,
Soaked to our souls, and hearts start pumping
Water where blood was, ain’t this something,
Trying to shake it off, all in our heads…

It's kind of simple structured for me, just an ABA form and heavy on the unresolved ii V's, but hey, sometimes, that's just what a dude needs to do.
