I have to admit that I am pretty skeptical when it comes to claims that we are moving towards socialized medicine or the like. The issue has to do with ownership. One of the core tenants is ownership of the means of production. You do not address this. This really has not changed much, with the possible exception of the bailout of the automotive and banking industries, and it appears that both the corporations and US government wish to exit this relationship ASAP ( ... )

Thanks.

You are correct, as this will still be private companies. I was going to reply that the one paying the bills, and hence the one who makes decisions on what does and doesn't "sell" moves from the private consumer to the government, but I suppose it really just moves from big insurance to big government, and I suppose, not much changes. This is, of course, presuming that single payer comes to pass, which is far from certain.

I'll spend some time to ponder over this tonight and see if I come up with anything of value, or if this pretty much negates the whole thing, as it appears to now.

Thanks again.
