I found this because it has the word Lucene, the name of a project I started. Turns out that was a typo, and you're talking about about bike touring, an interest of mine. Viva serendipity!

Good to hear, I will post a few techincal entries about equipment, routes, etc at the end of the trip.
I hope your project fate is better than Lucerne's though; there is not much left of the town.
I have to agree that Jasper (the town, not the park) is a bit depressing. I'm not a big fan of development in parks, given that parks contain some of the last unspoiled wilderness, and that there is a huge amount of land outside parks where you're able to put towns and hotels and roads and all that.
Once you get away from the town, though, Jasper is paradise.
