Six months in the city and I spotted a KFC for the first time. I didn't stop; but maybe one day I will venture back and try their infamous American menu

Did you make stampot with the kale and potatoes?

We sure did! Everybody was surprised by how bland it was. But we also had spicy sausages, which helped. Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile

We also added a bit of onion and carrot, which might be considered heresy by purists.

Onions are expected.
Carrots are usually used in their own variety of stampot.
True confessions: Even though I was fed stampot of one variety or another, often, when I was a child, I hate it. My choice would have been to compost the kale and find something else to eat.
