Since October 2009, when I last posted, a lot has changed.  Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer have come and gone, and now I'm setting in a new desk and a new architectural firm.  Luckily this firm doesn't block websites - yay!  So accessing Live Journal, Facebook, Gmail and all the other fun sites is easier.  I just have to make sure I get my work ( Read more... )

Glad to hear from you guys, Joe. I occasionally see pictures of you in Mikkie's stream and/or Journal and think of you.

I didn't now you weren't with your same company. Was there a large gap between jobs? I know how stressful that can be having gone through it a couple years ago.

It's good to hear from you too James. I ended my stint with Harley Ellis Devereaux in March and was unemployed for about 5 months. It was stressfull looking for a new job and unemployment only covers so much. Luckily one of the partners in this firm knew a few of the executives at HED. After he spoke to them they gave me glowing recommendations and I was hired. It was really good fortune I landed here still doing healthcare architecture. It was also a relief.

So how are you doing? How is Christen? Did you ever sell that condo in Sterling Heights? I know the real estate market in MI is awful. Do you two ever make it to Chicago? Sorry for playing 50 questions but it's been a while since we talked. I'm sorry about Lily.

Ah, no worries. Glad to hear you wound up in a good fit.

Christen and I are doing quite well. We're trying to close on a house here in Salt Lake City and that has been a bit stressful. (It's a short sale, so all kinds of odd hurdles.)

I still own my place in Sterling heights. I could probably only get about 60% of what I OWE on it right now with all of the foreclosures. So I am renting it with only a little stress, but it is covering the mortgage.

Thanks for your thoughts on Lily. I also lose Blaise that day. It was a rough week.

We have a new kitty now that keeps our first one busy. Jules is quite the little curious creature. :)

Great. I wish you the best of luck on the house. Hopefully it'll be a good place for you two and your kitty to settle into.

Thanks Mark. The London/Paris trip was fun. We can't wait to go back someday. Thanks about the new job too.
